To all my friends and relatives on the Hudson Fire Department. Just read in The register Star on line of the busy day including the fire on Warren Street a few doors down from where I lived as a young boy.It brought back fond memories of the many inspection parades my friends from Boston and I attended over the years. The egg fests at Rogers Hose and the parties at Crazy 8's and the Fireman's Home. Anyway I'm sure you guys did a great job as usual on this one. Hudson always has had an exceptional fire department. Good to see your photo Craigie! Anyway I hope this finds you all safe. Have a great Labor Day weekend and I hope to see a bunch of you later this fall over a few brewskis at Melino's

The Hudson Rotary is very grateful for the wonderful tour given to us by Chucky. He gave us details and provided stories that many of us would never here. Our members were thrilled, especially those members who grew up in Hudson. My husband Greg and I moved to Claverack about 30 years ago. I came to Hudson to get involved in the arts and provide youth programs. As a Head Nurse at NYS Fireman's Home, I was introduced to the world of volunteer fireman in the 80's. I have an item to sell on eBay and I was wondering if you had any history buffs who might know more about it as I'm having a hard time coming up with anything!
It is a brass Hardie Fog Fire Gun, and it was made by The Hardie Manufacturing Company there in Hudson.
This old timer is about 22 inches long and has an adjustable nozzle on one end and a handle with trigger on the other.
Any information regarding its use, history, etc. would be greatly appreciated!
